This was Google I/O 2017

At the 2017 keynote, CEO Sundar Pichai introduced some new products and shared information about their ‘AI First’ future. Lets take a look at the list of items.
1> Rethink all products for an AI First World – This being the high level promise , Google must continue to dominate its presence. An example being Google Search ranking pages differently using machine learning and Google Maps & Street View automatically recognizing street signs and video calling using machine learning for low bandwidth scenarios.
2> Using the Camera as an Input Device – Google announced a ‘Lens’ feature having an Assistant service that will give you information on what’s in front of the phone camera – Which flowering plant your camera is focused at or info about a restaurant on the street. This combines AI, AR, Machine Learning and computer vision and highlights how Google’s huge collection of data about the world can be used better.
3> Number of Users – Today, there are 2 billion active Android devices, 500 million active Google Photos users with 1.3 billion videos and photos uploaded to Google every day. Users navigate more than a billion kilometers with Google Maps, every single day. Google Drive has an estimated 800 million users and Youtube users watch more than a billion hours of video everyday. These are staggering numbers.
4> Email writing solutions – Gmail on Android and iOS carries an automated-response feature called ‘Smart Reply’ and this lets you choose up-to three responses that are based on the received email. You can also add more to the above response if you want.
5> More Google and More Languages, for the entire world – Google Assistant is being rolled out onto the Iphone in more languages, although it would very difficult to replace Siri
6> Google Home – “Hey Google, call Dad” will cause the device to dial out with your personal number when it detects your voice. No setup is required here making it a new landline phone.
7> Google Photos with a cure for laziness. – Google’s photo service, which has 500 million users, will now suggest which photos you should share and with whom. You can also share with an option called ‘Shared Libraries’, with Google signifying it’s better for you and your friends, including Google, if you share your photosgraphs.
8> Super Chat – While watching a live-stream video, you can have your comment highlighted as a ‘Super Chat’ message, making it stand out. This enables the creator to see it in an endless stream of messages and generates more revenue.
9> Standalone VR sets – Everything necessary for a VR experience will be built into the headset with no phone or PC required. These headsets are running on the new ‘Daydream’ platform and are being made by Lenovo and HTC, with plans of shipping starting later this year.
10> Google Jobs – Google is taking on Linkedin with listings for jobs in the main ‘Search’ product. If you search for healthcare jobs , Google will know where you are searching from and display jobs from that area.
11> Android Go – This is to be launched to better tailor Android to low connectivity devices. With the release of ‘Android O’, devices with 1 GB or less memory will receive versions of apps like YouTube and Chrome that use less memory. This software has features tailored for users speaking multiple languages.
With the new New AI-first tools like Assistant, Photos and new VR sets, more clarity is available on the future trajectory of Google.
